Katan saree is mainly known and popular as a wedding saree in our country. Sarees are the first choice of Bengali women everywhere at home and outside, including on festivals or Eid, family functions, or official work. ✴ Almost double the yarn is required to make a Sartin saree than a Katan saree. If 30,000 threads are required to make Katan texture, 60,000 threads are needed to make satin texture.
✴Generally, certain texture saree are not woven with any other yarn. But, in making the Katan texture, the texture is varied by combining other yarns. For example: Tasar Katan, Reshmi Katan, Maslice Katan.
✴Katan texture sarees are light in weight, soft/soft. It almost blends with the skin. On the other hand, the texture of certain weave sarees is slightly coarser than Katan.
